So, I did have some practice after yesterday’s post. The image above is pretty much it…the result of me being lazy, but still wanting to get some practice in with the process of going through an illustration.
Layer Folders and Layer Clipping
I swear, understanding this is so damn useful when doing digital art. You don’t have to go back and continue using the selection tool on a base layer. You can then focus on clipping and drawing on the correct layers (which I’m still trying to get used to, but I’m getting there).
I can now say that I’m used to using blending modes now. Specifically:
- Color Dodge (Photoshop)/Add (Glow) (Clip Studio Paint
- Lighten (rarely, but I do use it)
The more I play around with these models, the easier it gets! Figures out how to disable the lock on poses, making the models more flexible and no longer limited in terms of movement. The down-side is that when the limbs and such bend, it sometimes doesn’t bend properly (missing flesh/skin) so I’ll need to supplement that with anatomical knowledge.
3D Body Types
So, I downloaded quite a few body types the other day…but most of them are unsatisfactory. The body shapes are fine…but the neck and head tend to be really low quality. But to be fair, I have to learn how to do the neck and head manually anyway so…lol.
Anywho, thanks for reading. See you guys tomorrow!
